OIL PAINTING WITH JACK BRODERICKFor beginning and intermediate students, this oil painting class begins with the basics. A preliminary discussion of materials, is followed by a study of value and the theory of light on the basic forms. Color theory and composition become the ultimate focus of the class. In all, the emphasis is on the dynamic mix of light and form. Wednesdays, Jul. 9 – Aug. 6, 6:00 – 9:00 pm (5 weeks), Fee $160 JACK BRODERICK is an accomplished plein air painter and studio painter. He uses both image and feeling in developing his paintings whether the subject is a model, a landscape or a still life. He exhibited internationally in Paris, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Palermo and Tilcara. He has won the Robb Sagendorph Award at the Copley Society where he is a Copley Artist. He is also a member of the Salmagundi Club, the Mystic Art Center and the Lyme Art Association. In 2004, he was awarded a residency at the Fundacion Valparaiso in Mojacar, Spain. He is a graduate of Marist College, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Connecticut. |
